We released 7 variations of our newest TV commercials designed to put a "spotlight" on fatherlessness. They are called "Family Lock-Up."
We purchased hundreds of TV spots on Time Warner Cablevision in June and July, with thousands more to follow throughout the year all around the country.

Brian was interviewed at length about the problem of fatherlessness and the solutions for it on host John Hanson's nationally syndicated radio series "In Black America" on KUT Radio, in Austin, TX. The program will air in August. We will update this post as soon as we know the times and dates of broadcast.

Our director, Brian K. Burns, will be the guest on The Dad Show tonight from 6-7pm. The Dad Show is a talk radio show on the air every Tuesday from 6-7pm CST on Community Radio Station KAZI-Austin 88.7 FM. They take on any subject affecting Fathers, Strengthening Families, Positive Youth Development, Healthy Marriages, Child Support, and Faith- Based Initiatives.

"Daddy Class" will be offered at several venues beginning in mid 2011. We will also be headed to jails and prisons to speak to the men incarcerated in these facilities - especially juvenile facilities. The young men have a particular place in our hearts... We will keep you posted with video and info from the meetings we hold.

We are still taking applications for new Board of Director members. Applicants should have a strong desire to help restore fathers to their children, time enough to contribute to the furtherance of the work on a weekly basis, and skills in one or more of the following areas:
- Governance
- Fundraising and Grantwriting
- Budgeting and Accounting
- Program Development & Evaluation
- Public Policy
- Volunteer Programs
The Board of Directors:
* set policies
* maintains our overall direction
* continually defines our mission
* establishes priorities
* crafts strategies, and
* ensures that plans and programs are implemented properly.

We are finalizing our "Daddy Class" curriculum, which will be offered through courts and other venues to help wayward fathers change their hearts, minds and actions, helping them work toward maintaining meaningful relationships with their children.

We all know that many millions of children and teens do not have a “Daddy” who is involved in their lives. Over the years we have come to more fully realize that this is a systemic problem in our nation and around the world. It is a problem which daily affects the lives of kids of every race, creed, color, and socio-economic status.
